I have just left XP 32/64 and I swore by it until I had run the W7 Bata and was kind of impressed but not excited. But I will say now that they are up to RC and more I am impressed with the system, they have fixed a lot of the issues I was experiencing. The lack of setting it up when you format is a formatting dream.

I am still having the odd problem with some apps/devices all older ones. It still freezes from time to time. I recon they will have it all fixed by retail release (the not responding problem that is). But all in all it is a nice graphics rich environment.

I must say since I changed my main operating system to Vista sp2 after playing with W7 and the tri boot (Xp-64bit/Vista-86bit/W7-64bit). We can now honestly say the great Bash up Vista is over. I am finding Vista SP2 a good stable system. The only problem I have with it is trying to use U3 applications. This was fixed by buying a U3 thumb drive with the compatible launch pad.

I recommend everyone who has a spare drive install the RC and experience the graphical explosion that will take place on your screen. I would make use of the Windows Multi Boot it is awesome and so easy to use a child could install a multi operating system. Just whack the disk in and follow,don’t change hard drive priority just change boot from dvd. You wont be disappointed, the only thing I recommend is don’t convert to full W7 use the multi Boot and test it for some time before you make your choice of what system you want full time.

I hope you all like W7 as much as I did.
Now we just need to wait for the retail release.

How are you doing? I never invested in Vista because my research (even when it was in Beta) told me it was going to be huge time waster for anyone who loaded up with it. Been using WinXP & about 85% satisfied with it. Win98 was only about 30% satisfied with. Within a year from now would like to move into a dual-boot 32 & 64 bit systems. This is not set but pretty well where I want to go after I do some more research. One SSD for the OS, one SSD for programs, all the fastest RAM that the MB will fit on it, RAID?, 2-3 One TB fast drives for storage, one or two 26″ monitors, Water-cooled, etc. Then with this super fast rig (it’s an Alienware wannabee) it may become half as fast as your mean machine. Seriously though, I will be using it for business apps & primarily Multimedia & not for gaming.

So, it will be a challenge to match up all the parts. Sorry, about the in depth explanation of my next rig. I included it only to explain the dual-boot 32 & 64 bit systems I want to install. The SSD’s need the 64 bit OS for peak performance & the extra RAM would also help. With how fast the comp marketplace moves. It’s way to early for me to commit myself to an OS. Especially, since I’ll probably be buying all of my system at once.
